There is an exercise that helps you focus on yourself and
who in your life has influenced you. In
this exercise you begin with a piece of paper folded into quadrants. In the center of the quadrants you make a
circle.
- In quadrant #1 write a bullet point list of what you value
- In quadrant #2 write a bullet point list of your talents and gifts
- In quadrant #3 share information about the person who most influenced your values and the development of your talents and gifts
- In quadrant #4 create a metaphor for who you are as a person (picture, etc.)
- In the center circle write the 3-5 words that you found the most inspiring from your mentor (described in quadrant #3)
When you’re finished ask yourself, “Have I ever told this
person how much they affected my life?”
No matter if you answer is “yes” or “no, if you
can, let them know today. If you can no
longer thank them, consider how you share the gift of mentoring that they gave
to you with others. If it makes sense to
you, contact us at support@entrustedlegacy.org
and learn how you can change the lives of others.
